Author K.S. PaulsenKris S. Paulsen was born and raised on the sunny California coast where she grew up exploring her first love, the Pacific Ocean. When she moved to New Mexico to earn her bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Science, she found a different kind of beauty in the oceans of desert, the deep craggy canyons, and the high mountain peaks. It was there, in the Land of Enchantment, that she discovered her calling as a writer, editor, and advocate for nature.

When Kris returned home to California, she launched a successful career as a science editor at a large publishing company, and rekindled her love of the ocean. Today, she focuses on her writing, editing books for aspiring writers, and volunteering with environmental organizations. Her leisure time is spent paddle boarding, rock climbing, cross-country skiing, and exploring the natural world with her daughter.

Storm Shadow is Kris’ debut novel, the first in a series steeped in high adventure, romance, and intrigue.
